- Fixed Router :- Fixed Routers is a non up-gradable, we cannot add and remove the Ethernet or Serial interfaces.
- This types Routers doesn’t have any slot.
- Fixed Router are just like a branded PC where modification of interfaces is not possible.
- Modular Router :- Modular routers is a up-gradable Routers and we can add or remove interfaces as per our Requirement .
- Slots are available in the Modular Router.
- Modular Router are just like a assembled PC where modification of interfaces is possible.

They will share data packets just like a physical routers.
